British superstar Sting thrilled 8,500 music fans at Tüßling Castle...

Tüßling Castle provided the perfect setting for Sting's much-acclaimed performance.

Sold-out concert in neighbouring Bavaria, attended by many residents of the Innviertel region. Fans of British superstar Sting needed a lot of patience. After his concert planned for 2020 as part of the Raiffeisen Cultural Summer could not take place last year, a third attempt was necessary. Last weekend, the performance as part of his "My Songs Tour" finally worked out.

It's about a half-hour drive from Braunau to the market town of Tüßling, which has a population of 3,000, in neighbouring Bavaria. Many Innviertel residents made the short drive last Friday to attend the long-sold-out concert of the global music star. Sarah Connor and Toto had already performed in the castle park in the days before.

Wearing an orange T-shirt, Sting took the stage at 8:38 p.m. and, right from the start, ignited a veritable musical fireworks display in front of the 8,500 music fans with his hits "Message in a Bottle," "Englishman in New York," and "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic."

The multiple Grammy Award winner is 70 years young and has sold around 100 million albums as a solo artist and lead singer of the band The Police. When the in-form Briton launched into his song "Brand New Day" shortly before 9:30 p.m., the two seating areas became one large standing area.

More global hits followed, such as "Desert Rose," "Every Breath You Take," and "Roxanne." Around 10 p.m., the weather gods finally cooperated. It rained only briefly, there was no major thunderstorm, and Sting thrilled his audience with several encores on this balmy, atmospheric concert night. A total of more than 27,000 people attended the concerts in Tüßling this year, a new record according to the organizer, COFO.
